Fca philosophy, Vision & Core values
The foundational principle upon which our philosophy is built is found in Deuteronomy 6:7 “You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up” (NASB). God commands us to teach our children His laws.
Through a solid Biblical worldview education, our vision is to see the younger generation aspire to discover their God given spiritual gifts, to be obedient to the call of God in their lives, to put Jesus Christ first in everything they do and to live by the guidance of the Holy Spirit in order to impact our community, state, nation and the world for Jesus Christ, making disciples and reflecting Christ to all they come in contact with.
At FCA we will strive to do our best to follow God’s command, achieve our vision and to operate by the following core values.
Christ centered – we will keep Christ the center and focus of all we do. The school environment will be disciplined, respectful safe and productive (Romans 13:7; Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 12:5-6; I Peter 2:17; Revelation 4:11). We will endeavor to form godly character by depositing moral virtue and forming godly habits while reproving and correcting.
Personal relationship with Jesus Christ – we will encourage each student and help them develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:6-7; 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15; Hebrews 10:24).
Power of the Holy Spirit - We recognize the importance of the power of the Holy Spirit operating in our lives and the importance of walking in the Spirit. We will encourage students to rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit in all they do. (Joel 2:28-32; John 14:17; John 14:26; John 16:13; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:17-21; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6; Mark 16-17; Galatians 5:22-26; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:11).
Word of God is infallible – We recognize that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and the authoritative Word of God. We further recognize that all truth is found in God's Word (John 14:6; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 John 5:20; Acts 1:16; Romans 3:4).
Biblical worldview – We will integrate a biblical worldview into all areas of the curriculum and school program teaching truth to all students (Psalm 19:1-6; Proverbs 1:7; John 14:6; Romans 1:20; 2 Timothy 3:16). We will train the students in the art of Christian self-government so that they are governed by the Spirit of God. In turn they will become responsible and contributing citizens of God’s Kingdom and our country.
We all have purpose – We will affirm the worth of each individual as being made in the image of God and will promote the uniqueness of each student and their God given talents and abilities (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:13, 16; Jeremiah 29:11; Matthew 22:37). We will teach them that their purpose, in life and their studies, is to know God and Jesus Christ, to love and serve God wholeheartedly and to know His voice.
Partnering with parents – We recognize that the parents are the child's primary educator. We will partner with parents who affirmatively support and cooperate with the school's Christian philosophy of education, core values, mission, and vision in the education of their children. We will encourage families in their membership of a biblically sound church. Both parents/guardians should be born-again Christians (profess Jesus Christ as your personal savior) but at least one parent must be a born-again Christian. (Deuteronomy 6:7; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 4:1-6; Hebrews 10:24-25).
Striving for excellence – We will pursue excellence in all we do for the glory of God. We believe that the pursuit of excellence honors God and inspires others (Ecclesiastes 9:10; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17; Colossians 3:23).
Well-being – We will promote the spiritual, academic, social, and physical well-being of the student body (1 Corinthians 6:20; 1 Timothy 4:6-8).
Critical thinking – We will develop students who discern the truth based on Scripture, apply biblical wisdom to every part of daily life and hide God's Word in their hearts, renewing their minds with the Word of God. We will aim for high academic achievement and critical thinking skills We will equip students to develop the thinking, communication, study, and academic skills needed for future educational and occupational success (Psalm 119:11; Proverbs 3:5-6; Ecclesiastes 9:10; 1 Corinthians 2:15-16; Ephesians 4:11-15; I Peter 3:15-17 ).
Giving of time, talents, gifts and income – We will prepare effective Kingdom servants who will understand and follow biblical principles in the management of their time, talents, gifts and income throughout their life that they may fulfill their responsibility toward good citizenship and mission outreach giving their lives in service to God thereby impacting the world around them for Christ (Matthew 20:28; Luke 19-13; John 12:26; Acts 20:35; Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:8-11; Colossians 4:5-6; 1 Peter 4:10).
Role Modeling – The teachers and staff of SSVCA will be active examples of how to live a life governed by God (John 13:15; Romans 15:5; Philippians 2:3-5; Colossians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:21; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-10; 1 Timothy 4:12; Titus 2:1-8).
